Time, Value, Money

As business owners, we all know the old adage, "time is money".  Most of us are quite familiar with the plethora of charts and graphs regarding the "time, value, money" equations of operating our companies, and  have learned (or are learning) what works best.  Often, especially in industries providing service, "time is money" is literally the case.  At times, it can be difficult as a business owner to feel like you're running your business and not the other way around.

We at FIVE:thirty feel it's important to keep all of life (including professionalism) in perspective.  If you're taking the above concept to its extreme, you could find yourself running so ragged that you aren't able to keep up with your clients or projects.  In this case, your "time, value, money" equation is going to start lagging severely on the 'value' end.  It's important to be sure you're giving your personal life a fair amount of attention, even if it's occasionally at the expense of new projects, clients, or deals.  There's no sense in being available to the extreme that your work itself starts suffering!

At FIVE:thirty, we also believe it's important to practice what we preach.  We'll be on vacation for the next several days, taking time to unwind, reconnect and re-energize!  If you want to drop us a line, we'll be sure to get back to you on Monday!
